Still high from DnD last night! Woke up thinking about DnD emceeing, and the videos we did.. wow!
Looking back, it was a journey of mixed emotions.
Of course at first when I knew I was 'arrowed' to be emcee for DnD, I felt both ways. One way: it's gonna be fun! Exactly what we used to do for Arts Camp, Oweek, Foodhunt etc etc, speaking to a crowd, making jokes, having fun etc etc.. Another way was of course the doubt on whether we will do a good job, as I've never attended our particular one, I don't know a lot of people, and also don't know how the crowd will respond (both in terms of people and the different ages from school) etc etc
Being in the programmes team and also the emcee has its pro and cons, with the pros being you have virtually full control over the programmes so you know what can flow, what can work, what you can deliver and what can't be done, and the cons of course you will be ****ing busy.
I wanna thank my partner-in-crime Hwan Khim for her willingness to discuss the programmes out with me despite not being in the programmes team, her idea of the videos, and of course her wonderful emceeing on stage.
I also wanna thank Aubrey for sticking by us when we were doing the videos, helping us so much during the filming stage (plus your wondeful hair wahhaha). It's only with your (the two of you) enthusiasm and willingness to carve time out despite being 'to the brim' that made the journey exciting and fun.
I also wanna thank Min Jeong for being willing to act out as *** ***. Hope you had fun 'erecting' against many people :P
For me personally it's good to 'relive' the good'old days again. Much like FASS Oweek'08, with help of many friends who trusted me and gave me constructive comments, I was able to script, direct, film, act and edit out the videos according to the vision I had in mind. And this time round, I also wanna thank Jaleel for teaching me how to edit videos using the Power Director software, and this has certainly added to my skills after Oweek'08.
As I've said many times on stage, I'm really grateful to the participants for putting up such a good show.
CM: Hoiling, Jing Xian and Jiexi for sticking to the idea you guys had despite being rushed for time
LAS: James, Kit Wan, Min Jeong, Meishan, Lynn (c*ke haha!) etc for doing such a wonderful show
PP: Jaleel for organising the whole thing and edited until so late the night before
CC: Kim Han and Damien I can really see how busy you guys are, and how breathless you guys were, haha! Also thank to Sock Har for helping out. (is this supposed to be secret?)
LIS: Don't really know them personally, but they did a wonderful mtv nonetheless, which I believe involved the whole section.
If only this thing was purely for fun and not on a 'work' basis, it will be much more perfect, especially if we can drop all work to do just this (which I did for like 2 days filming and 4 days editing the videos).
All in all, it was a fun journey, and I wanna thank everyone for the experience again!!
(can the planning for the next *LAC start not so soon...)
