打开了的心结As the bus hummed along the 'breath-taking' bridge, what once were behind us were now in front of us.
The spiked hemispheric structures.
The scene was the polar opposite of what happened then.
Darkness vs Daylight. Near bank vs Opposite bank. Intimate vs Awkward.
No emotion ran through me then, just a sense of nostlagia.
I wanted to take a peek behind.
At that moment, as the same scene played out in front of us, I wondered if you had the same subjectivity given the same set of objectivity.
I really felt nothing, but something in me, something deep inside the archives of my memories cling on to that particular moment tightly.
Perhaps there was a tinge of sadness.
Unknowingly, a faint smile appeared on the corners of my lips.
I've moved on, but I know these memories are the ones I hold dear, and will cling on to them as long as my soul cling on to my body.
Perhaps it has even become a part of my soul.
我一直没有勇气面对, 因为我不知道你会有怎样的反应.
至少, 我知道, 缠乱已久的心结, 今天打开了.
谢谢你的那句 "秉德?" =)

Days of Being Wild
I bought a book at the PAGEONE bookstore at VivoCity yesterday.
It was named
Days of Being Wild - GE2006 Walking the Line with The Opposition, by Dana Lam.
I've been wanting to buy this book since its publication on 30th November, after the advertisment of this book on the various Singaporean social-commentary blogs.
Flipping through the content of the book and the pictures, it brought me back to the May of 2006, where the elections rallies were really electric affairs that shook the Singapore heartlands.
Looking back at the photos, it really reminded me of actually how Singaporeans are actually concerned with what is going on in the country.
I love the way Singaporeans suddenly become so passionate with the national issues and political process of our country, and how Singapore becomes a place so full of life, full of passion, and full of concern and full of interaction, so different from the apathetic and cold faces we see on the MRTs and buses in our everyday lives.
I love the way Singaporeans from all walks of life - children with parents, teenagers decked out in their school uniforms, grandparents, working adults in their working attires, and heartlanders decked out in their most comfortable t-shirt, shorts and slippers waddling pass the muddy fields to gather around the stage for a common purpose, for a common love for the place we call home.
Those cheers, boos, shouting and interaction among stranger fellow Singaporeans brought together a sense of unity, a sense of passion, a sense of nationhood, and the sense of adrenalin rush seldom felt in this country.
Famous Singaporean blogger
Xenoboy had a
wonderful post about the elections in Singapore and its magic to the Singaporean public. After that hectic 9 days of campaigning, everything returns to normal. The passion dies. The unity dies. The sense of nationhood dies. The adrenalin rush dies. Everyone returns to the mundane working lives, and those cold, unfeeling faces once again fills the MRTs and buses.
How good it would be if Singaporeans are like that all year round, rather than 9 days in 5 years.
How I miss those days.
I wanna relive the experience.
This Saturday is the start of Singapore's defence of the Asean Cup (formerly known as Tiger Cup), and I wish to feel that passion, that unity, the sense of nationhood, and adrenalin rush again..
Join me.

Great Year-EndHmm this post come a bit late, but this is surely the most happening Year End period I've ever had!
Update from the last post:
Christmas Eve: Went to Orchard to meet Wendy, Peiling, Zhiqing, Tat Wee and miss OL Anmei for a slight walk around orchard, after they had dinner with Wenyan (except our miss OL lol) and shopped for our gift exchange for 08's Christmas celebration.. Before the crowd could gush in for the countdown, we left town, and went to Tat Wee's house to get his car! Had a first Xmas countdown in a car LOL.. And i was the only one who shouted "Merry Chirstmas!" zzzz
Then, we go for an unusual Christmas tour.. along the Geylang sleazy lorongs! Too bad we only got to see two eh.. transvertites. zzzzz. After that, we went to Simpang Bedok for Prata and I think we ate until near 4am! zzzzz
Christmas Day: Caught "The Curse of the Golden Flower" with Wendy (again) , Peiling (again), lihui, Xiong, Rayner and Beetin.. Eh, what can I say? The show was great for its grand visuals, especially the inner palace, splendid flowers and war scenes which I really love, and the plot was so-so.. But having watched 'Heroes', this movie was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy better... Gong Li's acting was legendary! I thought she potrayed the lonliness of the Empress perfectly. Also, there's always the comedy starring R&B prince Jay Chou, with his 'best newcomer' acting skills.. especially the mouth Chou Jin part! wahaha! Not to mention the erm, boobies as well. Not a Great movie, but a good one.
After that, we went to Lihui's house for our Christmas celebrations! Really surprised got grateful that her mum prepared a spread for us, even though I could eat few of the stuff, I felt abit paiseh.. It was a homely gathering which I really like.. Too bad the place was a bit cramped though! But people lease out house for us to use le so I mai hiam! Then we had our Christmas gift exchange... Yess LaRR I got the "Present of the Night!".. Beetin got my present, which was a toy Hippo(Crite) with a voice recording function in it.. I recorded my version of 美丽美丽圣诞 in it! Niakhaha sbh hao ting! I got Cuihua's chocolates, which although not much effort la ( =P ), but the chocolates were really nice and addictive hehheh.. Now half of it still lies in my kitchen.
Boxing Day: Rested at home, not without a barrage of Dota!
27th: Went out to eat with my two cousins, around the Bugis area.. Then went (zai) Teo Heng to sing!!
28th: Went to visit my auntie at Clementi, then rushed down to Marina Square to watch Death Note 2 with Wendy (again), Peiling (again), Anmei and Wenyan.. Hmm, it was my first time eating Da-Baoed rice in a cinema! haha and the curry smell must have filled the theatre. But Anmei said it was 叉烧饭! -_- Anyway, the show was quite nice, since I've not watched the manga before.. A pity was that the pace was abit too fast (understandably so as it was condensed) and we know who is Kira all along. As expected, my favourite character ought to be L, with his weird ethics, not to mention the great makeup! And plus the two cute girls in the show, it was well worth the $3! (Yes Larr $3)
After that, rushed down (again) to Sean's house, which the guys had a BBQ, then we proceeded to have a overnight LAN (yes laRR DOTA) session at Justin's house... It was fun, but really shagging.
29th: After returning from Justin's house, reached home at around 10am (take cab ahz!) Then sleeeepppppppttttt all the way to ard 7pm, which I rushed down to Tampines to meet the 4D guys (Tian Hao, Desmond, and Geng Hui). It was great catching up with everyone again. =) First time we tried the Organic Cafe at the CS basement.. Not really sure what's so great about it anyway =P.. After that we proceeded to the TM E-Zone Arcade to play the table hockey.. That was the incident of the day. JI.
When we were into the second game, one puck accidentally flew off the table, and then I tried to pick it up. However, it flew under one of the racing machines. Not wanting to waste time, I went back to play with the remaining pucks. Then came the fucker shop attendant. Without giving us a chance to explain, he chided us for not picking up the puck. Even as we explained that we wanted to pick up the pluck after the time is up, he gave a pissed face. Imediately, we were pissed and had no mood to play anymore. After that, we confronted him, but if you've argued with unreasonable people, you know that even when they lose the argument, they wouldn't admit defeat. Even as I handed out my hand at the end of the argument, he refused to say it, and uttered "Jibye" under his breath. What a way to be a service personnel! Now, I've decided to boycott that arcade.. Speaking which, we have not sent the complaint email to E-Zone! I will make sure that young man suffer or we get complementary tokens
After which, me and Tian Hao went to Julynn's house for (another!) overnight mahjong session with Julynn and Junwei.
30th: After reaching home in the morning (again), I sleeeeeeeeeeeepppppptttttttt all the way until 5pm, and at night, went to Louisa's birthday party. Again, it was great catching up with the LEO BOD members, some of them I've not talked to for a long time.. Also it was great to see some of the old TJC people, and talking to Melody was enlightening as well.. Not exactly a great party haha, but the gathering was good =) After that, went Rayner's house for soccer watching and (zai) mahjong!!
31st: Reach home in the morning, and sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppptttttttttt again to evening... Then dragging my shagged body, went to Cecilia's house for steamboat, which of course I didn't eat but it was quite nice talking cock with our 4d people again.. and watching and kaopehing about the Taiwanese artistes on TV.. And of course, eating the 1kg $89 grapes! Didn't stay back for overnight mahjong, as I had soccer the next morning and I was really too shagged.

the steamboat party (yes I'm not inside =P)
1st Jan: "Why about kicking off the New Year with a bang?" That's what Ben (Weichern's Bro) said, and that's what we did. Had qqqquuuite a fun kickabout with the usual Marist gang, this time with Geng Hui, but the opponents were errrm, really lousy. hhahaha. Good kickabout though, as I really need to excercise =) Reluctantly went to rayner's house to play overnight mahjong (again!), taking the last bus (the new bus 45 ah! sbh fast!). Not really sure if it was fun, but hmm Newcastle vs Man Utd was really a great game to watch though.
That's it for now!
It has been a great end year for gatherings =)
