Hahaha it looks nice and well thought. A rainforest on stage.. Wonder how many camo nets they use.. haha and that blue thing in the middle, is a freaking helicopter!
It's 8pm (the stipulated starting time) and people are still streaming in! Typical Singaporeans.
But ha we thought. Taiwanese too! Then, we saw some media people (with passes hanging on the chests) ushering two old folks to their seats.. That back looks familiar!
Oh gosh! It's David Tao's father, Tao Da Wei! (and his wife, mother tao) He's sitting in the same row as me! (thanks dav_ten for the wonderful wonderful 4th row seats!!! VVIP seats leh)
Then we saw, Sly, Cavin Soh (of dreamz FM and Daqiu fame), and Olinda Cho! Didn't know Ou Xuan was there! Otherwise sure take photos with her one, chio bu! haha
Then there was Richard Liu (liu qian yi)! He came with his daughter, i think. Didn't know you like david tao! you've got taste, Lao Beng! haha
Then with some hesitation, we went up and ask for Tao Da Wei's autograph.. The result of not being shy.. a nice poster with his autograph pasted on my bedroom wall. He's not that famous, at least to us, but well, you only live life once, i told myself, and i wun lose anyting having his autograph on the concert poster.
heh heh.
Ok the story is supposed to begin with david losing control of his helicopter and dropping down on this rainforest.
Then HE APPEARS!!!!! The whole crowd went crazy!!! And he began belting his familiar tunes
Zhao Zi Ji, Jin Tian Mei Hui Jia etc that brought up the party atmosphere and some nice little sentimental songs.
Airport at 1030 and Ai Wo Hai Shi Ta (Can he see TAAAA~~~~~ from his mouth haahahaha)
After the red shirt part ( I dun haf the pics) He returned with Ghost! (particularly impressed with Kewei's Erhu skills, keep it up girl!), Dear God, and Hei Se Liu Ding, with a tinge of prayer in them. The crowd was high and touched at the same time.
Next it was the unplugged session! Three very simple but touching songs Pu Tong Peng You, Er Shi Er, and Wu Yuan. Particularly like Er Shi Er! So meaningful.
Ai Hen Jian Dan, i love this song, but abit sad though. Everytime he sings this song the concert ends! And truly, he goes back to the backstage!
We suspect it was over (the lights were still in 'concert mode' though) and everyone shouted 'encore!! encore!! encore!!'
And he returns!! (i thot the costume was abit sui bian though ahaha) with Wang Ba Dan!!
He then sang Butterfly. He told us that a fan wrote to him, telling him that he/she wanted to commit suicide, but after listening to this song, it gave him/her strength and he/she dropped that idea. The crowd was touched. This is a testimony of david's music, it's not just for entertainment, it reaches out to touch ur heart, ur soul.
The concert ended with love around, David using the song Jiu Shi Ai Ni to thank everyone associated with the concert. With "Xie Xie!! Thank you Singapore!!!", he left the stage, much to the disappointment of the fans.
But hey!! All good things must come to an end rite???
I've enjoyed the concert!! David once said, it isn't important to remember how good he sang, or how good the band played. It's the love that we bring back that is most important.
Well, i had all three! David's singing and stage presence was great, the band seems to enjoy themselves so much, and the 'prayer for the world' feeling of Ghost and Dear God left a deep, deep impression on me.
Thot that was the end?
I got a nice surprise the next day, from a newspaper I seldom read.
No, neither did I get his TE HOU underwear (i'm not gay), or I've LUAN MO him (told u i'm not gay!)
We were in the newspaper!!
Haha we're the ones waving the lightsticks
Left to right: Me!, Xinhong, Rayner, Weichern
See ya in two years' time, dave!
