OuchOuch. My gums are still swelling. Every spout of saliva I spit out is
red.. yuugh..
Eating is a torture.. when both sides are painful, swelling, full of blood and loaded with the stitches, I can only swallow the porridge down the middle! No biting, just swallowing down. It's impossible to avoid
BOTH sides as well! rrgh.
Had my wisdom teeth extraction @ Alexandra Hospital this morning at around 9.15am.
Actually I wanted to extract them since a long time ago, as they were causing me problems. Some niggling pain whenever my gums are dry, eat dry food or they are damn hard to brush! I removed one during BMT at the BMTC medical centre.. Why was it so easy then but so troublesome now?
I opted to have a local anesthesia, as opposed to a general anesthesia, which will put me in deep sleep. I wanted to experience for myself the whole process. Also. the thought of going into deep coma sounds scary too, it's not like I having some major surgery! And of course the waiting time of 6hours and not knowing what the doctor did to you.
I'm still not sure whether I regretted that decision!!
Lying on the operating chair is quite scary. Maybe that overdose of American sci-fi movies put me thinking that I was some meat on the chair ready to be cut up by eager experimentalists. The very thought of my mortality entered my mind. I'm now at the mercy of some strangers!!!
And the process wasn't easy.
I experienced various needles being poked into my gums,
BOTH SIDES.Then, miss dentist (yes she was a female) proceeded on with my bottom right teeth.
It's quite gross to feel the drills, the pincers and what-equipments-have-you banging and pressing against your teeth. I can still feel the tools on my teeth, just without the pain. However, on the other hand, the sadist in me feel quite fun then a part of my body is being drilled.. No pain somemore!!
Drill, pluck and bang? No pain!!!
Neh-neh-ni-poo-poo. Yah not funnie HAHAHA!!
After repeated drilling --> plucking --> breaking the tooth --> drilling --> plucking --> .... , the process was repeated a no. of times, and apparently on that SAME TOOTH.
My doubts are confirmed by her.
"Aiyo this is the hardest tooth I've done! It's hiding behind the other one"
Oh my God.
I tried to laugh to soothe her I sense that impatience mounting.
"Please, just be patient and slowly do it.. Don't be rash!!" I thought to myself.
"What calcium did you take ah?" She jokes.
"Haha.." I controlled my laughter, with all that saliva and
blood clogging my throat. Should I be happy or what? Haha I'm happy for the strong teeth I have. The process is not painful,
but my cheeks are bloody painful now from the constant widening of my mouth..OEI KIN LEH!Luckily after a few more rounds of the above-mentioned drill, I heard that 'thud' sound.
"Wooh. Finally out!" miss dentist said.
"Woof." I was relieved.
"Ah these two teeth are muuuuucccccccchhhh easier."
True to her words, after another 15mins, they were out. Compared to the around half-hour for the first tooth!!!
The result??

my poor teeth...
Rrgh the only good thing from this..

"the above named is unfit for duty for a period of 05 day/s from 27.02.2006 to 3.03.2006 inclusive."
