ZAIHmm went to the Parliament (again!) today.
Today was the 2nd day of the debate on the rise of ministeral and civil servants' salaries.
Well, I won't bore with you the details (I believe most of my friends don't give a shit about politics anyway).
These are some interesting observations:
1. Ah tiongs go to watch Parliament too (!!!)
And they couldn't understand a shit the malay police told them
Police: "Empty your pockets"
AT: "OK"
Police scans.
"BEEP!"
Police searches.
Wallet in pocket. =.=
"Dia tak faham lah", dikata polis-polis. =P
2. One certain MP always sleep in Parliament (not bad for $13,000!)
(Ask me if you wanna noe =p )
3. The ministers can really speak.. and they have an aura when they speak.
(Is it that they are ministers because they have an aura, or is it because they have an aura because they are ministers?)
4. Teo Chee Hean (our 'boss' for our many years in the MOE then the SAF) speaks real well, debunking arguments with a smile effortlessly.
5. Lim Swee Say is damn impressive in the way he speaks. This is the first time I heard people speaking convincingly and passionately despite badly-pronounced English. Despite it being long and ponderous, the honest touch and convincing tone he had made the whole House engrossed in his speech.
6. Denise Phua is the first non-minister I've seen to speak with such conviction and passion - mostly against the hike somemore.
On a lighter note, I FINALLY SAW EUNICE OLSEN TODAY!
In the Parliament, I think only her and NMP Cham Hui Fong are 'lookable' women
Oh yah, last point:
7. PAP woman MPs look either like men or overaged Ah Lians. +_+
Hmm, also at night, went to watch TMNT with Pearl and Patrick. So glad that this show is still on!
Well, the show's plot is good, but the presentation techniques and the pace of the show pretty sucked. Boring start, very dubious pace of plot development, and an overly abrupt ending. Think the director is a rookie perhaps?
But nonetheless, it's great to see the turtles in action again! TMNT was my favourite childhood cartoon! Also, the graphics were impressive as well. (kinda reached the WCIII cinematics standards) Too bad they didn't play the TMNT cartoon music =(
Time's running out. Mr Bean anyone?
